MUST READ

Starting today, I will be updating this blog regarding the NBA TV Top Ten Plays and NBA Highlights. Since I find it hard to think on what particular sport to post in this blog and since basketball is one of the famous sports all over the world, and of which I am familiar with, I assure you that updates will be posted in this blog regularly. But of course, other sports will be featured also.

PACQUIAO-DE LA HOYA FIGHT CONFIRMED

This post is supposedly published last Thursday, August 28, 2008, right after Manny Pacquiao announced his fight against De La Hoya. But because I was in a place where there is no wifi connection and I am finding it hard to go to establishments offering a free wifi connection, I end up not posting anything to my blogs for three days. So here it goes:

"I posted an article in this blog informing the public of the probability of Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya bout (CLICK HERE). Want to know the latest?

The news now is that it is confirmed. Yes it is indeed! This is confirmed by Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao himself in an interview. This will be held in Grand Arena at December 6, 2008. It is said that this will be the last fight of Oscar De La Hoya before retiring. On the other hand, according to Pacquiao, he considered this as his biggest fight in his boxing career.

I suggest you avail of the early pay per view offer so that it will be cheaper."

MARIA SHARAPOVA AT THE 2008 US OPEN

After the successful modeling career representing the new star to represent the canon camera with a diamond, Maria Sharapova is now set for the 2008 US OPEN. When you say Maria Sharapova, she has it all. She is one beautiful lady who plays sports which fact is rarely viewed in models and other beautiful and famous women stars or celebrities. The atheletic side of Maria Sharapova matching it with such adorable face makes her one of the few admirable person on earth.

What could she ask for more? She has everything per se.

Let's just see the action in her in the 2008 US OPEN. Hopefully she will bring home the trophy.

KOBE BRYANT AT THE OLYMPICS

I am such a bad fan. I failed to post something about Kobe Bryant who was excellent in the recently held 2008 Beijing Olympics. Of course they won the game. They grab a gold medal for the USA. This medal is important to team USA insofar as the basketball team is concerned. They have been defeated in the previous olympics. This one means a lot not just to the players but to the whole officer, coaches and staffs comprising the team. At last they take the gold now.

Of course one of the sports icon there and doing some of the spectacle actions is Kobe Bryant. I do believe Kobe Byrant is a matured player now. For sure the 2009 NBA Season will change its pace. With this attitude of Kobe Bryant in playing basketball applying it to his team in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers and with Pau Gasol assisting him, they will be the 2009 NBA Champion. If they almost did last year, why couldnt they do better this year?

As a fan of Kobe Bryant, I am surely proud of him.

WOMEN TENNIS PLAYERS OVER ALL RANKING

It is but proper to start the first day of the 2008 US OPEN to feature the world's greatest tennis players. Some of us may have knowledge on how they rise up to this level while others do not, it doesnt really matter. Definitely these players are well-crafted in their field and mostly if not all of them started at a very young age in learning the sport lawn tennis.

As a woman, let's start the ranking of the women tennis players all over the world. Through this, you may have a glimpse of who to watch at the start of the 2008 US OPEN. Below is the top 20 greatest women tennis players of all time as of yesterday, August 25, 2008:

DAY 1 OF THE 2008 US OPEN

I remembered passing by an article mentioning the 2008 US OPEN but I did not mind about it. I recalled saying that I'll just check it out later. But it just keeps on pomping up my mind. And when I opened the television there it is the telecast of day 1 of the this US OPEN.

Luckily I caught the game of Elena Dementieva. I like this girl even though she is a big threat to Maria Sharapova which I love the most. She recently won in the first round of the 2008 US OPEN against an inexperienced player Amanmuradova. But the latter played a nice game though almost defeating Elena Dementieva in the second set. However, commentators believed that Amanmuradova has that power which she mostly failed to exercise, not to mention the advantage of her height which is intimidating.

The first game though is all about Elena Dementieva. She won 6-4 to 7-5 in the first round. After grabbing the gold in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, here she is facing another challenge in the game of tennis.

WITNESSING THE BEIJING OLYMPICS CLOSING CEREMONY

The countdown start of the Beijing Olympics Closing Ceremony is pretty cool. How did they manage to do the precision in numbering? And we are back again with the drummers and those flying uphigh. The start of the Beijing Olympics Closing Ceremony is all about the fireworks. In addition to that, the thousand performers showing different sports in an artistic form. I like the formation and the consistency of the line.

After watching the Beijing Olympics Closing Ceremony, I think it was more than I expected. I was thinking that there will be something different in this event so much so after witnessing the opening ceremony. And it sure did, that is as far as I am concerned.

However, in another aspect, as an unprofessional athlete but surely a professional athlete by heart, I kinda feel the intensity and passion of it all as regards the athletes' experiences in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Of course you can see the faces of the successful athletes who grabbed some medals as well as the pain of defeat of the others. In the latter case, I guess, these athletes concerned should not lose hope. Some of them may still have the chance to prove that they can do more. This result is just the truth about sports. Sometimes you lose and sometimes you win. The important thing is you did your best and put your heart into it.

I still congratulate every athlete who joined the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

(As of this moment the Beijing 2008 Olympics Closing Ceremony is not yet finished. I just feel very sleepy that is why I need to post this topic. I am not sure if I can finish to watch on tv the ceremony.)

BEIJING OLYMPICS CLOSING CEREMONY

The Beijing Olympics will close tonight at 7:00 PM EDT. Surely most of us were amazed of the Beijing Olympics opening. With that we are expecting more of what has been presented before. I believe that the Beijing Olympics Closing Ceremony will be something that will leave a mark in the olympics history.

It is expected that 7,000 performers will participate in the Beijing Olympics Closing Ceremony. Similarly it will be directed by the same director who is Zhang Yimou who filmed the crouching tiger movie which was a successful movie.

The Beijing Olympics is something that is unforgettable not only towards the participants but also towards the expectators. It may be the end of this sport phenomena but definitely not the athletic motive of the athletes who will surely prepare for the next Olympics in London.

BEHIND WILLY WANG'S GOLD

In my continuous search about Willy Wang winning the gold for the Philippines, here is something that is not good for the ears. The wusho tournament is not an official game in the 2008 Beijing Olympics which only means that Willy Wang's gold medal is not counted for the official Beijing Olympics medaly tally. This is according to a fellow blogger who authored youronlineguide.blogspot.com.

In which case it is as if the Philippines did not acquired any gold for that matter. Nevertheless, its one thing that we should be proud of about this achievement of Willy Wang. This sport may not be an official category in this year's olympics, who knows it may become official in the succeeding olympics and by then Willy Wang will be better than ever and defend his title.

The Philippine sports authority must give emphasis in sports where Filipinos excel and not in those categories where we expect to excel.

WILLY WANG WINS GOLD

With the upcoming ending of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, its amazing to hear the Philippines grabing its first gold. So far for the first time since I have been watching the games in the olympics, this is the very first time that I heard that the Philippine National Anthem was sung. It does make my body hair stand. At least the Philippine has now its own gold medal and did not leave empty handed.

The Philippine hero for this Beijing Olympics is no other than Willy Wang. I saw his performance. It was definitely great which accompanied with gracefulness and precision. I am not familiar with the sport category that he joined. Actually it was the first time that I heard about it. Willy Wang grab the gold for the wushu tournament. And what is this wushu tournament? Wushu Tournament is an international martial arts competition. China began to promote wushu in 1982, and held the first International Wushu Invitational Tournament in 1985 in Xi'an, northwestern China's Shaanxi Province.

That is all I've searched so far. The thing is this is not about the sport. Its more about Willy Wang winning the gold for the Philippines. Congratulations!

REBEKKA HAMMON JOINED RUSSIA?

Who does not know Rebekka Hammon? She is the number 1 guard of the San Antonio Silver Stars of the WNBA. She is the limelight today because of his inclusion in the Russia team in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This is the famous controversy today in the almost ending Beijing Olympics. It was known that Rebekka Hamon was offered to be a part of the US team but she declined. Days or weeks later the news just arrived to the USA team that she already signed a contract with the RUSSIA team as one of its players in the Beijing Olympics. What is this? Does it have to be made in a secret conference?

Well that was what happened. And we could not go back and change the incident. Russia women's basketball team in the Olympics is doing very well. Yesterday before their game against USA, they only have one (1) loss. But still USA womens basketball team is forwarding to reach another gold medal in this year's olympics.

As to Rebekka Hammon's controversy, is just a controversy, period.

MARIA SHARAPOVA CAMERA MODEL PIX

Before the end of the Beijing Olympics several controversies arose. Why is Maria Sharapova not included in the Olympics? Well, this is only a personal controversy which I started. Anyway, it doesnt matter any more whether or not Maria Sharapova is not a part of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It has been several months since I posted a discussion about Maria Sharapova. As I've said, unfortunately, she is not included in this year's olympics. But guess what? To all Maria Sharapova fans, she is not at all free with this season of the Beijing Olympics. Why? She is busy in her modelling career.

Maria Sharapova models a canon camera with a diamond in it. Yes guys you got it right. A camera with a diamond. Well as expected it costs highly expensive. It is estimated to be a half a million dollars.

Can you imagine?

BEIJING OLYMPICS ENDING

A few days from now the 2008 Beijing Olympics is about to end. Still the fight is between the USA and CHINA. I think its hard for the other countries to catch up with the medal tally of these two countries. With only a few games left it would be hard for the others to match these two countries. But aiming for that gold is still not over.

I wonder if there will be a closing ceremony for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. And if there will be I wonder if it will be as glamorous as the opening. I read in one article saying that this year's olympics ending with definitely boost the country's economy. It added that expect, as China comes back on line, copper, iron, oil and other commodities to feel increasing demand. Whew I can already feel the end of the olympics and missing all the athletes who became famous.

Check the latest medal tally.

BEIJING OLYMPICS FINAL RESULT

It has been days since the olympics begun. We have seen great news as well as bad ones. We have seen unbelievable athletes breaking world record. Now that it is about to end, what do you expect will be the result of this 2008 Beijing Olympics? Like any other competition, it is expected that one country will top them all. But this does not mean that other countries are not worthy of note. This is just part of the game.

So, which country will earn the biggest number of medals. As of the moment, it is between USA and CHINA. There is still chances for other countries since there are a lot of sports yet to play. Sports competition is just like a tire that rolls and rolls not knowing which will be at the top until the game ends.

Whichever country will win the olympics will serve as an inspiration to other countries to do more and reach for that gold in the next olympics to come.

PACQUIAO vs. DE LA HOYA

Is this right? Am I hearing or reading this correctly? I watched the television yesterday and the news announced about the upcoming fight of Pacquiao. Of course no Filipino could afford to fail to watch a fight when it comes to their sport icon. Who then is Pacquiao’s opponent?

And whose name came out? It is De La Hoya. Oscar De La Hoya is one of the highest paid boxers at all times. He has proven his name in the boxing arena. But so as well Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. News in the Philippines has been unstoppable for the upcoming fight of these two men. It is indeed exciting. On the other hand, there has been a controversy about the rate which is 70-30 which is unacceptable of course.

The final decision per this bout will be achieved within ten (10) days from now. This will definitely be a big fight and we can’t obviously wait to watch it.

OPENING OF THE 2008 BEIJING OLYMPICS

The wait is all over. At exactly 8:08 tonight the 2008 Beijing Olympics is open. The opening was witnessed by President Bush in his first ever appearance in the Olympics outside the United States of America. As expected the opening will result into issues which are inevitable. The parade of athletes made my body hair stand. Oh I wish I was there, lol.

Anyway, in general the opening is fine. Famous china culture is presented which comprises one hour or more for a total of three hours or more of the opening ceremony. This is Beijing’s chance to let the whole world see the places they can visit within their country which will aid in the increase of their tourism activity. On the other hand, the athletes are obviously nervous at the same time excited to show off their skills and talent in their respective sports which sport competition will start tomorrow.

All I can say is kudos to the over all administrator of the 2008 Beijing Olympics!

PACMAN FLAG BEARER IN BEIJING OLYMPICS

(the above picture is courtesy of kissoflife.wordpress.com)

Who could be prouder with this than her fellow Filipinos? Go Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, you deserve it! The 2008 Beijing Olympics is going to push through tomorrow with the alarmingly lucky figure of eight (8) that is August 8, 2008 at 8pm. The flag bearer Pacman is set to travel today from the Philippines to Beijing.

I do hope that his representation will give the Filipino athletes confidence and will to continue with the fight and bring more gold for the Philippines. Although these athletes are not well-supported financially because of the unresolved issues prevailing in Philippine politics they continue to pursue their dreams and are proud to represent their country.

More power to the Filipino Olympians!

AMANDA BEARD NUDE PHOTO

Amanda Beard is known as a gold medalist in swimming. She started at a very young age and became the world champion and record holder in the 200-meter breaststroke. Similar to other professional athletes, she reached this stage with hard work, endless efforts, tears and perseverance.

With the advent of the Olympics, which will be starting tomorrow, this Olympian could not help but be in the lime light not because of her participation in the Olympics but because of her nude photo. Amanda Beard loves animals which is simply the reason why she accepted this nude photo in support of an anti-fur campaign. She believes that this is for a cause.
